Over the next few weeks and months, we will be providing information and statistics obtained directly from the Lexington Police Department, about the current crime rate, staffing levels, response times and other measurable areas of concern.
We will provide analysis of the data obtained and help citizens understand what the numbers mean and how they will affect the citizens of Lexington.
We will also be providing information and discussing fiscal issues related to Lexington Public Safety. The issues will include the amount of money spent per year in the city's budget, pension issues and collective bargaining. We will discuss funding mechanisms and solutions to these issues during tough economic times.
Finally, we will provide a central hub for concerned citizens to receive information to contact their elected representatives to express their opinions and their wishes as to how to best address these serious problems.
